City celebrates Raksha Bandhan despite Corona impact on spirit and markets

Jamshedpur: City is all set to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on Monday amid Corona crisis.

Although, there is a ban on social and collective celebration of festivals and gatherings, yet people of Jamshedpur are all set to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in keeping with social distancing norms.

However, Corona has had a major impact on the economic activities related to Raksha Bandhan.

Sale of Rakhis has been impacted. Similarly, the Mehndi market too has seen an adverse impact.

Earlier, the mehndi artistes would make a good profit on the eve of Raksha Bandhan festival.

But, this year, the business of mehndi artistes has been impacted adversely.

Many women said that they would celebrate the festival with traditional fervour even while maintaining social distancing norms and abiding by all the safety rules.

The women and mehndi artistes were seen following social distancing norms.

All the mehndi artistes were wearing hand gloves and masks.
