Mango Bridge Traffic Jam Causes Major Disruption
Commuters face severe delays due to a massive traffic jam on Mango Bridge.
A major traffic jam on Mango Bridge has caused significant disruption for commuters, with vehicles moving at a snail’s pace.
JAMSHEDPUR – On Thursday, Mango Bridge experienced severe traffic congestion, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters.
The jam started around 10 AM and persisted throughout the day.
Hundreds of vehicles were stuck on Dimna Road, Mango Roundabout, Mango Bridge, Old Purulia Road, Bus Stand Roundabout, Old Court Road, Bus Stand Road, and MGM Hospital Road.
Despite the presence of traffic police, the situation remained unchanged, leaving school children and pedestrians struggling in the scorching heat.
The construction of a flyover in Mango was expected to alleviate these traffic woes, but progress has been inconsistent.
The foundation stone of the flyover was laid by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, with Minister Banna Gupta stating that it fulfilled a long-standing demand of Mango residents.
The flyover, to be built in EPC mode at a cost of Rs 252 crore, has faced numerous delays, with work starting and stopping intermittently.
One frustrated commuter remarked, “We had hoped the flyover would resolve these issues, but it seems like a distant dream.”
This ongoing traffic problem underscores the urgent need for consistent and timely infrastructure development.
