Admn looks for more Covid-19 care facilities in city

Jamshedpur: In view of the quick spread of Corona virus in the city and the steady rise in the number of new patients as well as fatalities, the district administration has started looking for new care centres and treatment facilities.

The DC Suraj Kumar and the SSP M Tamil Vanan today visited Awadh Dental College, Kaushal Vikash Kendra Pardih, Kerala Public School, Shyama Prasad College, Parsudih and several other places and examined the feasibility of turning these institutions into Covid-19 care centres.

The possibility of turning Kaushal Vikash Kendra, Pardih and Loco Training Centre, Loco Colony into a Covid care centre is also being examined.

The district administration is trying to ensure availability of sufficient number of beds and other treatment facilities in the city, so that these could be employed if the number of patients goes up significantly.

At present there is a lot of pressure on the three Covid-19 centres at TMH, MGMCH and Tata Motors Hospital.

The new Covid-19 centres would be used for treating asymptomatic Corona patients. This is to ensure that the dedicated Covid-19 hospitals could focus on symptomatic and serious patients without being too much stretched.

Those who were a part of the district inspection team included ADC S K Sinha, ADJM (Law and Order) Nand Kishore Lal, Executive Officer of MNC, Ravindra Gagrai, Circle Officer Jamshedpur Arurang Tiwari and BDO Malay Kumar.
