BJP demands CBI enquiry, blames mafia nexus

Jamshedpur: The dead body of the Block Development Officer of Palajori block in Deoghar district, Nagendra Tiwari, was found on railway tracks in Jugsalai.

The deceased Nagendra Tiwari had been on leave for the last one month. The family members of the deceased have expressed suspicions about the reason for his death.

A few relatives hinted at harassment by officers and a local mukhiya. Another relative claimed that a few senior officers used to abuse him on phone.

The family members said that one local mukhiya had threatened him. They said that yesterday he went out of his house with one of his students and when he did not return for a long time, the Sakchi police was informed about it.

On Monday, Sakchi police informed them about a dead body being found from railway tracks in Jugsalai.

The incident has sent a wave of shock through the administrative machinery.

The police are looking into all aspects of the case.

The former district president of BJP, Devendra Singh today offered floral tributes to Nagendra Tiwary and condoled the family.

The family members of the deceased told him that he must have been murdered.

They said that a mukhiya of Palajori block was harassing and threatening him for one month.

They also said that Nagendra Tiwary had launched a drive against sand and stone chips mafia and this had infuriated the mafia nexus in the area. They hinted that mafia hand might be responsible for his death.

Devendra Singh spoke to the state BJP president and MP Deepak Prakash and informed him about how the deceased was being harassed by the mafia for the last six months.

He said that the deceased had also written letters to the chief minister and the chief secretary and had expressed fears that he might be eliminated by the mafia elements.

Mr. Devendra Singh also demanded CBI enquiry into BDO Nagendra Tiwari’s death.
