Jharkhand COVID-19 tally reaches 2525 with 35 new cases, maximum eight cases from East Singhbhum

Ranchi: A total of 35 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in different parts of Jharkhand on Wednesday. The total number of COVID-19 patients in the state went up to 2525 today. The death toll has reached 15.

Sources said the maximum number of cases were reported in East Singhbhum where eight persons were diagnosed as COVID-19 positive.

The number of positive cases in Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Garhwa were six, five and four respectively while in Ranchi, Sahibganj and Pakur there were two cases each. One case each was reported in Lohardagga, Khunti, Gumla, Godda, Dumka and Bokaro, sources said.

Meanwhile, 40 natives of Dumka stranded in Bhutan have been brought back to Jharkhand. They were taken to a quarantine centre after screening. Those brought back said many more people from Dumka are stuck in Bhutan.

District administration officials said they are preparing to bring the remaining lot of people. The administration has requested people to exercise maximum precaution, they said.
