Health minister Banna Gupta assures speedy trial in Adityapur gangrape-murder case

Seraikela: State health minister Banna Gupta Saturday met the family members of the minor girl gangraped and murdered in Adityapur recently and consoled them. He announced to give a sum of Rs 50,000 to the bereaved family.

Earlier the district administration officials gave a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family. DC A Dodde and SP Mohammad Arshi were present on the occasion.

Supporting the police role in the case so far, Gupta said doubt cannot be raised against investigation into the heinous crime so far. He assured speedy trial in the case to punish the culprits and ensure that they go to the gallows.

Condemning the incident, Gupta said he had directed the district administration to tighten noose around various gangs and drug dealers in and around Adityapur.

The minor girlś body was recovered from Kharkai river near Hathiyadih in Adityapur. A resident of Saldih Basti, she had gone mysteriously missing on 17th June last.

Police investigation revealed that the girl was gangraped. Five persons have been arrested in this case so far.

Gupta said the state government had taken serious view of the gangrape-murder incident.

Meanwhile, speaking to scribes, the health minister said the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients in Jharkhand was better than 16-17 states.

¨Our government is seriously fighting the pandemic. We are sure we will soon defeat the menace,”said Gupta.

Gupta said no medicine would be allowed to be tried on Corona patients without the permission of Ayush Ministry and the state health ministry.
