Villagers Clash with Builder Over Encroachment on Government Land

A legal case has been registered against 16 identified individuals and 30 unidentified persons following a violent clash over land encroachment in Putru, under Ulda panchayat in Ghatshila.

JAMSHEDPUR – A confrontation erupted when Jitendra Kumar Dubey, a resident of Jamshedpur, began constructing a building on disputed land near Putru village.

Upon receiving information about the construction, local villagers arrived at the site, demanding that the work be halted.

The situation escalated when two youths, Sunil Das and Bodra Patnaik from Nagra, allegedly verbally abused and physically assaulted the villagers.

The villagers retaliated, capturing and severely beating the youths before handing them over to the police.

Both Sunil Das and Bodra Patnaik were admitted to the sub-divisional hospital in Ghatshila.

Due to the serious condition of Bodra Patnaik, he was later referred to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur, where he remains in critical condition.

Jitendra Kumar Dubey had purchased the land near the Putru Highway in the name of his wife, Aarti.

The disputed land had been used by the villagers for community activities such as worship, sports, and cultural events.

Villagers accused Dubey of forcibly encroaching on government land to build his house.

Jitendra Kumar Dubey filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the individuals involved in the incident.

The police are currently investigating the matter to resolve the dispute and ensure justice is served.
