JSSPS to train and lodge 12 Jharkhand players selected for FIFA U-17

Ranchi: On the directions of the Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, Smt. Pooja Singhal, Secretary, Tourism, Art Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department has given instructions to JSSPS to make arrangements for lodging and training of 12 players of Jharkhand selected in the Indian FIFA U-17 World Cup team at Sports Complex, Ranchi. These players selected for the World Cup were being trained in Goa by the Goa Football Association, but due to the lockdown, these players have come to their home, and could not get proper training to prepare for the World Cup. Smt. Pooja Singhal, Secretary was reviewing the work of the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) today.

In the review meeting, the Secretary directed to ensure all necessary arrangements for the stay of a total of 650 trainee players in the hostel of JSSPS. She inquired about the work being done by JSSPS and sought suggestions related to the development of the players of Jharkhand. In the review meeting, the CEO of JSSPS gave detailed information about the work being done by JSSPS through presentation.

Out of 12 players of Jharkhand selected in Indian team for FIFA U-17 World Cup, 7 players Astam Oraon, Sumati Kumari, Amisha Bakhala, Sudha Ankita Tirkey, Salina Kumari, Neelam Tirkey and Purnima Kumari are from residential training centres operated by the government. 3 players Sunita Munda, Neetu Linda and Anjali Munda are from SAI SAG Centre, Ranchi and 2 players Anita Kumari and Soni Munda are from the football academy operated by the N.G.O ‘Oscar’ of Ormajhi in Ranchi district.

In the meeting Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Shri Basav Chaudhary, Shri Ratnesh Shrivastava, Shri RK Jaiswal, Shri A.D. Badhawa, Shri Ajay Mukul Toppo, Smt. Pushpa Hassa, Shri Shrikant Purwar, Shri B.K. Manjhi and Smt. Gayatri of JSSPS were present.
