JAMSHEDPUR – Amid a sharp drop in temperatures, parents in Jamshedpur have urged local authorities to adjust school timings for students’ safety.

The Jamshedpur Parents’ Association, led by Dr. Umesh Kumar, submitted a formal request to the Deputy Commissioner. The plea emphasized how the city’s temperature has fallen below 10°C, with potential for further decline due to forecasted cold waves.

Proposed Adjustments for Students

The delegation suggested modifying school hours to shield children from the biting cold. They recommended starting classes for students in nursery to grade 5 at 10 a.m., ending at 2 p.m. For grades 6 to 12, classes could extend until 3 p.m., aligning with safety considerations.
