Elephant Ransacks Food Godown in Chakulia Again

Chakulia Nagar’s elephant menace continues, with Ramlal targeting the FCI godown and leaving many in terror.

JAMSHEDPUR – Residents of Chakulia Nagar are living in a state of terror as a tusker, known as Ramlal, the well-known elephant, continues to wreak havoc in the area.

Early on Saturday morning, the elephant not only targeted the FCI godown but also inflicted significant damage on the boundary wall of a nearby plantation owned by the godown’s director, Sushil Kumar Sharma.

According to Sharma, this is not the first time the elephant has targeted his property, having previously broken through two shutters of the godown and devoured wheat and rice.

He expressed his frustration over the repeated incidents, stating that the elephant’s actions have caused considerable pain and loss to him.

The incident on Saturday saw the elephant break through the main gate and the number two godown’s shutter, trampling three rice bags in the process.

The Forest Department’s QRT crew promptly arrived at the scene and managed to drive the elephant back into the forest.

Sushil Kumar Sharma commented on the elephant’s behavior, describing how it burst through the main gate, shattered the shutter, and damaged the rice stockpiled by eating and stomping on it.
