Science Club Marks Raman Effect Discovery With Events

JAMSHEDPUR – DBMS College of Education celebrated National Science Day with academic activities and cultural performances to honour Sir C.V. Raman’s discovery of the Raman Effect.

The Science Club of DBMS College of Education organised the programme. It was held to commemorate National Science Day.

The event honoured physicist Sir C.V. Raman. It marked his discovery of the Raman Effect.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp. Thereafter, several knowledge-based activities were conducted for B.Ed. trainees.

A documentary showcased Raman’s life and achievements. Moreover, students watched his scientific journey in detail.

Hindi science-themed poems were presented by Raja and Tanishka. Meanwhile, English poems were recited by Rashmi and Arundhati.

In addition, a science play titled “When Google Becomes the Teacher” was staged. The performance drew appreciation from the audience.

Students also displayed models during a science exhibition. Furthermore, a group dance was presented alongside the exhibition.

Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita addressed the gathering. She stated that science plays a vital role in daily life.

Moreover, she urged future teachers to nurture scientific thinking. She emphasised the need for scientific awareness in society.

Vice-Principal Dr. Monica Uppal also spoke on the occasion. She highlighted science and technology in building a developed India.

According to her, India is progressing rapidly. She said information technology will shape a new India.

The programme was anchored by Amrita and Manpreet. Meanwhile, the vote of thanks was delivered by Pratyeksha.

Assistant Professors Neha Bharti and Amrita Choudhary played key roles. Besides, Secretary Shripriya Dharmarajan and Co-Secretary Sudha Dilip attended the event.

All faculty members, staff and students were present. However, the college has regularly organised academic celebrations in recent months.

Earlier, Hindi Diwas celebration was observed on campus. Likewise, a special event marked Dr Rajendra Prasad Jayanti.

The institution also hosted a Republic Day celebration earlier this year. Moreover, it earned recognition with an E-Waste award.

Recently, the college concluded an educational tour for trainees. In addition, it completed a vaccine drive in collaboration with Rotary Club.
