JAMSHEDPUR – Former minister Dulal Bhuiyan accused JMM leaders Mohan Karmakar and Pramod Lal of defamation during a press conference on Monday.
Bhuiyan served as MLA from Jugsalai constituency three times. He held ministerial positions twice in Jharkhand government. The former minister criticized both leaders severely.
He accused them of insulting the Dalit community. However, the JMM leaders filed an FIR earlier. They registered the case at Sitaramdera police station.
The complaint alleged inappropriate comments against Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Additionally, accusations included illegal gambling operations in the area. Charges of running prostitution rackets were also mentioned.
Bhuiyan challenged both leaders to prove their allegations. He referenced comments by former Ghatshila MLA Surya Singh Besra. JLKM leader Baby Mahato’s statements were also cited.
The former minister questioned their selective outrage. He asked why they remained silent on others’ remarks. Moreover, he pointed out the double standards.
Bhuiyan announced plans to file defamation case. The case will be filed in Jharkhand High Court. A Harijan oppression complaint will be lodged at Birsanagar station.
The controversy stems from recent encroachment demolitions. District administration demolished illegal structures at Bhuiyan Deeh. The action triggered political tensions in the area.
Bhuiyan allegedly compared CM Hemant Soren with Satan. The former minister now denies making such statements. He claims his words were misinterpreted completely.
“We did not say anything like that,” he stated. He clarified comparing government actions instead of individuals. The comparison was directed at government policies only.
The FIR filed against Bhuiyan escalated political tensions. Encroachment removal near Swarnrekha Ghat sparked earlier protests. The security removal issue remains unresolved for the former minister.
