State Government to Present Second Supplementary Budget on December 8

Key Points:

  • Five-day winter session scheduled with supplementary budget presentation planned
  • Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato convenes all-party meeting for smooth proceedings
  • Finance Minister confirms state treasury remains in stable financial condition

RANCHI – Jharkhand Assembly’s winter session will be held from December 5 to 11.

The session will span five working days. The state government will present the second supplementary budget on December 8. Moreover, several important bills are being prepared for introduction.

Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato has called an all-party meeting. The meeting aims to ensure smooth conduct of proceedings. Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the consultation.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi participated in the meeting. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radha Krishna Kishore was also present. In addition, legislators from RJD, JD(U), and AJSU joined discussions.

The meeting focused on maximizing productive session time. Participants discussed ensuring meaningful debates on public interest matters. Furthermore, consensus was sought on addressing citizen welfare issues.

Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore made a key statement. He confirmed the state treasury remains in good condition. The financial health of Ranchi-based state government appears stable.

Political speculation has been circulating about government stability. However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister addressed these rumors directly. He stated the Jharkhand government remains completely united.

The minister emphasized there is no cause for concern. “There is no reason to panic anywhere,” he said. This statement aims to dispel ongoing political conjectures.

The Chief Minister recently took oath as MLA in the assembly. The winter session follows this development. Besides, the session comes after significant political developments.

The Assembly has previously addressed crucial financial matters. Earlier discussions included budget and pay hikes for state employees. On the other hand, the 1932 Khatian Bill remains a pending legislative priority.

The previous winter session established precedents for current proceedings. The upcoming session will test government’s legislative agenda. Furthermore, opposition parties are expected to raise accountability questions.

The all-party meeting demonstrated cross-party coordination efforts. Such consultations help maintain parliamentary decorum. They also facilitate constructive dialogue on state matters.
