Jamshedpur Literature Festival 2025 Set for December 20-21

JAMSHEDPUR – Vidyadip Foundation will organize Jamshedpur Literature Festival 2025 at Hotel Ramada, Bistupur on December 20-21, featuring over 100 participants including Padma awardees, writers, and cultural performers.

The festival will host more than 20 sessions. These include cultural evenings, poetry readings, youth dialogues, and book launches. Moreover, the event will showcase award ceremonies.

Vidyadip Foundation is organizing the two-day event. It aims to bring together literary and cultural figures. The festival will serve as a platform for dialogue.

Folk singer Rahgir will perform on December 20 at 7 pm. His popular song “Kachcha Ghada Hoon Main” will feature prominently. On the other hand, Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera and her team will present Kalbelia dance on December 21.

Three generations of Gulabo Sapera’s family will perform together. The dance performance will mark the festival’s grand finale. However, multiple cultural sessions will precede this closing act.

The opening session will honor exceptional authors. Each selected writer will receive Rs 1,00,000. Additionally, they will get a memento.

In the Hindi category, Harivansh from New Delhi will be honored. His book “Jharkhand — Ek Chunauti Bhi, Avsar Bhi” earned recognition. Meanwhile, Vyomesh Shukla from Varanasi will receive the award for “Aag Aur Pani”.

Babusha Kohli from Jabalpur will be recognized for “Lau”. Dr. Anjum Sharma from New Delhi will receive the digital literature award. Her YouTube series ‘Sangat’ led to this selection.

The English category includes three book collaborations. Dr. Ravi Datt Bajpayee and Prof. Swati Parashar wrote about Camil Bulke. B.L. Mittal authored “Cracking the Marwari Code”. Dr. Mayank Murari and Achal Priyadarshi penned “Tribal Bravehearts”.

Senior journalists formed the selection jury. Sanjay Mishra, Bhavanand Jha, U.N. Pathak participated in the process. Ganesh Mehta, Jayprakash Ray, and Brajbhushan Singh also served as judges.

Udit Agarwal joined the panel. Sandeep Muraraka and Santosh Khetan represented the organizing committee. They played crucial roles in book selection.

Dr. Anjum Sharma will discuss digital literature on December 20. Sanjay Mishra will moderate this session. The India Today associate editor brings valuable insights.

A session on Hindi usage in government work follows. Dr. Damodar Khadse, a Sahitya Akademi awardee, will participate. Nidhi Kumar Jha from the Revenue Department will engage in dialogue.

Two prominent satirists will share the stage. Dr. Prem Janmejay edits Vyangya Yatra. Mukesh Nema authored Saabnama from Indore. Dr. Pankhuri Waqt Joshi will moderate their conversation.

Writers from northeastern states will participate. Morjum Loyi, Dr. Tadam Ruti, and Milan Rani Jamatia will attend. They will discuss linguistic diversity and unity.

Vinod Dubey lives in Singapore as an expatriate writer. He will converse with B.L. Mittal about business and tradition. Mittal serves as managing director of Kolkata Sasta Sundar.

Film actor Rajesh Jais hails from Mumbai. Dr. Bharti Gore teaches at Delhi School of Journalism. Dr. Manish Jaiswal from Gwalior ITM University will facilitate their discussion.

Renowned painter Manish Pushkale will discuss canvas art. Padma Shri Bhajju Shyam will join this session. Vaibhav Mani Tripathi, founder of Yayavari, will moderate.

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivamsh will be honored at 6 pm. The ceremony recognizes his acclaimed book on Jharkhand. Subsequently, he will share experiences from journalism and parliamentary life.

Harivamsh will felicitate Padma awardees at the festival. Bhajju Shyam from Bhopal will receive recognition. Laxman Singh and Sundaram Verma from Rajasthan will be honored.

Anil Prakash Joshi represents Uttarakhand. Dr. Damayanti Besra comes from Odisha. Jharkhand’s honorees include Jamuna Tudu and Chami Murmu.

Janum Singh Soy will be recognized. Premlata Agarwal, Deepika Kumari, and Chutni Devi complete the list. The ceremony celebrates their exceptional contributions.

Day two begins with discussions on Gandhi, Ambedkar, and Lohia. Shashi Kumar Jha Avyakt and Abhishek Ranjan Singh will participate. This session sets the intellectual tone.

Environmental issues will follow. Dr. Shiv Om Singh from UP Environment Directorate will speak. Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi will join this session.

Padma Shri Sunda Ram Verma will participate. Padma Shri Laxman Singh completes the panel. They will discuss water, forest, and land issues.

Acharya Dr. Arun Prakash, a renowned philosopher, will attend. Mayank Murari will engage him on philosophical topics. The discussion promises deep intellectual engagement.

Prof. Govind Singh from IIMC New Delhi will speak on journalism. NDTV’s senior journalist Priyadarshan will participate. Sanjay Krishna will moderate this crucial conversation.

Manoj Sinha from Delhi and Sukhwant from Mumbai will discuss cartoons. Rashmi Sharma from Ranchi will lead this conversation. The session explores visual storytelling power.

Amber Pandey from Indore will recite Hindi poetry. Madan Mohan Danish from Gwalior will present ghazals. Their performances will showcase poetic excellence.

Prof. Ranjan Tripathi, Dean at Delhi University, will speak. His topic covers religion, nation, and literature. This session promises profound insights.

Ravishankar from Civilization Study Centre will discuss tribal struggles. Senior journalist Anuj Sinha will share his perspectives. Their dialogue will focus on Jharkhand.

Popular web series ‘Panchayat’ actor Pankaj Jha will attend. Film actor Rajesh Jais will participate. Actress Sunita Rajwar, known as Bittu’s mother, joins them.

Director Abhishek Chaubey completes the panel. Dr. M.K. Pandey, a theater expert, will moderate. The session explores OTT and cinema.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar Mishra will receive the Vidyadip Jal-Sanskriti Award. His work on river ecology earned this recognition. Soma Munda, a retired soldier from Khunti, will present it.

Journalist Sopan Joshi authored “Jal Thal Mal”. He will lead a session on civilization and environment. Senior advocate Rashmi Katyayan from Ranchi will participate.

Renowned author Divya Prakash Dubey will attend. He will discuss storytelling art with Ankush Kumar Singh. Singh founded Hindinama, an important literary platform.

The organizing team includes multiple dedicated members. Sandeep Muraraka, Neeraj Pathak, and Madhav Khandelwal are active. Ajay Bhalotia, Mantu Agarwal, and Kamal Kishore Agarwal contribute significantly.

Ashish Gupta, Akash Modi, and Abhishek Agarwal Goldie participate. Rohit Agarwal, Lala Moonka, and Rahul Agarwal work actively. Gaurav Agarwal and Mohit Chaudhary complete the team.
