Fire Guts House in MGM Thana’s Baliguma Area

Short Circuit Suspected as Family Loses Wedding Gifts and Valuables

Key Points:

  • Blaze erupted in Baliguma under MGM police station limits
  • Short circuit suspected behind sudden fire outbreak
  • Wedding gifts and household items reduced to ashes

JAMSHEDPUR – A massive fire in Baliguma under MGM police station limits destroyed a family’s home and wedding belongings, causing losses worth lakhs though no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning in Baliguma’s Turiyabera locality. The area falls under MGM police station in Jamshedpur.

According to preliminary inputs, an electrical short circuit likely triggered the blaze. Subsequently, flames spread rapidly across the house.

Within minutes, the structure was engulfed in fire. As a result, residents could not salvage belongings.

Notably, a wedding had taken place in the house last month. Consequently, all gifts received during the ceremony were stored inside.

Moreover, clothes, furniture, and electronic appliances were reduced to ashes. Other valuables kept in rooms were also destroyed.

At the time of the incident, male members were away for work. Meanwhile, women and children were present inside.

Suddenly, thick smoke filled the premises. Thereafter, panic gripped the household.

However, local residents rushed to assist the family. They began dousing flames using available resources.

After prolonged efforts, the fire was brought under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Nevertheless, the family suffered heavy financial damage. Residents estimated losses running into several lakhs of rupees.

Subsequently, locals urged the administration to extend compensation. They demanded immediate relief for the affected household.

The city has witnessed multiple fire incidents recently. Earlier, a Sarjamda house fire had caused similar destruction.

Similarly, a Golmuri cable firm blaze raised safety concerns. In another case, a Sidhgora flat fire damaged property extensively.

Meanwhile, incidents like a car fire near Tatanagar highlighted electrical risks. A Dhanbad market blaze also resulted in major losses.

Authorities are yet to release a detailed assessment report. However, officials are expected to examine the electrical system of the house.

Fire safety experts often advise regular wiring inspections. They also recommend certified fittings to prevent short circuits.
