JAMSHEDPUR – A fatal assault in Shyamsunderpur has led to two arrests.
The incident occurred on September 11 around 9:30 p.m. at Virbhanga village. Neighbors Chaitan Murmu and Sukul Murmu visited Lakhan Murmu’s house. A heated argument broke out during the visit.
However, the quarrel soon turned violent. Both accused attacked Lakhan with bamboo sticks and wooden rods. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, despite medical care, Lakhan succumbed to his injuries on September 13 at 7:30 p.m. After his death, police moved quickly and arrested both accused.
Moreover, officers seized the bamboo and sticks used in the assault. Police officials confirmed that the accused will soon be sent to judicial custody.
This case highlights recurring disputes in rural Jamshedpur turning into violent clashes. A police source stated, “We acted swiftly to bring the culprits to justice.”
