JAMSHEDPUR – Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, Kolkata organized a special program in Jamshedpur on September 13, 2025, to mark Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
The initiative aimed to spread knowledge about prostate cancer, its early symptoms, and the importance of timely screening. Urology and surgical oncology expert Dr. Abhay Kumar stated that cases of prostate cancer are rising rapidly. However, early detection makes effective treatment possible.
He also explained the advantages of robotic surgery. According to him, the advanced technique ensures precise treatment and is accessible to patients of all backgrounds at Manipal Hospital.
The event featured testimonies from three cancer survivors. Seventy-two-year-old Professor Pranobesh Roy, 71-year-old K.D.P. Singh, and 57-year-old Tapas Kumar Mahato shared their journeys. All said robotic surgery made their treatment smooth and successful, and they are now fully recovered.
The awareness campaign focused on removing fear through accurate information and encouraging people to seek timely medical help.
