India-Pakistan Asia Cup Match Faces Boycott Calls in Jamshedpur
Ex-Servicemen Appeal to Citizens Not to Watch Cricket Clash
Key Points:
- Ex-servicemen in Jamshedpur call for 100% boycott of the match
- Appeal made after recent Pahalgam terror attack by Pakistani militants
- Public sentiment against India-Pakistan cricket match on UAE soil
JAMSHEDPUR – A veterans’ group in Jamshedpur has urged people to completely avoid watching the India-Pakistan Asia Cup cricket match in the UAE.
The Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad declared a full boycott. According to them, no one should watch the clash against Pakistan.
The call comes after the Pahalgam terror attack carried out by Pakistani militants. In that assault, women lost their husbands, and families were shattered.
“How can we enjoy a game with such a nation,” said a source from the group. They emphasized that their boycott was not symbolic but absolute.
Meanwhile, nationwide discontent has been rising over cricketing ties with Pakistan. Many citizens also believe that playing the match disrespects recent victims.
The Asia Cup encounter marks the first face-off since the Pahalgam incident. However, public enthusiasm is reported to be very low.
The Parishad stated that they will ensure 101 percent boycott. They believe sports must not overshadow the grief caused by terrorism.
