JAMSHEDPUR – On World First Aid Day, a special safety and disaster management preparedness training was organized in the city.
The program was jointly conducted at the Institute of Safety Professional in Sakchi and Excel Technical Institute in Dhatkidih. It is a recurring monthly event, but this edition was given special significance because of the global observance.
The training lasts three months, including six days dedicated to first aid. Trainees from across India participated. They admired the teaching style of trainer Arijit Sarkar and described the workshop as a unique experience.
Participants said it was the most valuable training of their lives. They noted that they were taking home lessons that could act as milestones in their future.
The sessions included both theory and practical demonstrations. Topics ranged from body structure, burns, fractures, poisoning, CPR through artificial respiration, drowning rescue, and treatment for snake and dog bites.
Moreover, modules also covered shock management, fire safety, stretcher drills, ambulance loading, first aider qualities, bandaging, knots and hitches, and golden hour survival techniques. Practical rescue tricks, towing, and fireman lifting were also demonstrated.
