JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested Rahul Rai for firing at Suraj Tiwari during a Ganesh Puja celebration in Sakchi’s Tamaria Road area.

City SP Kumar Shivashish disclosed the arrest during a press briefing on Tuesday. Rahul, a resident of Chayanagar Hum Pipe in Sitaramdera, already faces 10 criminal cases.

Officers recovered a country-made pistol and three live cartridges from his possession. The weapon was confirmed as the one used in the firing.

The firing occurred during a program organized by Raj Club Committee on the occasion of Ganesh Puja. A dispute reportedly broke out between Rahul and Suraj during the event, leading Rahul to draw the pistol and open fire.

The case was later reported to the police, resulting in Rahul’s arrest.
