Crackdown on Roadside Encroachments from Galudih NH-18 to Kesharpur
Galudih authorities initiate enforcement against 20 shop owners encroaching on the roadside; legal consequences warned.
JAMSHEDPUR – Actions against roadside encroachments have commenced between Galudih NH-18 chowk and Kesharpur.
On Monday, the Circle Office handed out notices to a total of 20 shop owners who were accused of infringing upon public space.
The Circle Officer had previously issued letters to these offenders on July 15, instructing them to appear in person at the office to present their case.
Upon their arrival, the shop owners argued that the plastic put up in front of their shops was simply a protective measure against rain and not an encroachment on the pavement.
All the shop owners have collectively written to Circle Officer Rajeev Kumar explaining their perspective on the situation.
Rajeev Kumar stated in no uncertain terms that any kind of encroachment on the roadside would be dealt with severely.
He emphasized that if the shop owners fail to remove the encroachments on their own at the earliest, the government will intervene and the expense of removal will be borne by the shop owners themselves.
