Dhanbad Police Bust Bike Theft Gang, Three Arrested
Four Stolen Motorcycles and Parts Recovered in Dhansar Operation

JAMSHEDPUR – Dhanbad police exposed an inter-district gang behind rising motorcycle thefts, arresting three members and recovering stolen vehicles.
The operation followed theft complaints in Dhansar police station area. On August 20, Shankar Nagar resident Suresh Singh reported his Honda Shine stolen. Earlier, on August 17, a Splendor Plus had been stolen near Tata Motors.
City SP Ritvik Srivastava said CCTV footage helped track the culprits. A man in a white and blue T-shirt was spotted stealing a bike. He was later identified as Raja Raut alias Rajkumar Raut of Jharia’s Bhagatdih. Recently released from jail in June, he already faced seven cases.
Police monitored him and arrested him on August 22 night with Jharia police’s support. During interrogation, he named two associates: Mohammad Aslam of Chandrapura, Bokaro, and Mohammad Irfan of Nawadih. Both were soon arrested, and stolen motorcycles were recovered from their hideouts.
Seizures included a Honda Shine, a Splendor, another Honda Shine, and cut parts of a Hero Glamour. Three Android phones were also confiscated. The accused admitted to at least 10 thefts across Dhansar, Bank More, Topchanchi, and Katras areas.
Police stated that stolen motorcycles were either modified for resale or dismantled for parts in garages.
