JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi ordered closure of all schools on July 10, 2025, following India Meteorological Department’s forecast of heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The IMD predicted severe and continuous heavy rainfall across the district. Such weather conditions could adversely impact public life and student safety.

However, the precautionary order covers all government, private and minority schools. Students up to Class 12 will remain at home on Wednesday.

Moreover, the administration issued this directive considering public welfare. All educational institutions must ensure strict compliance with the order.

In addition, officials emphasized continuing education through online classes. This arrangement will prevent disruption of academic activities during the weather emergency.

Meanwhile, monsoon rains have caused significant waterlogging in Saraikela district. Major rivers across Jharkhand are flowing above danger levels.

On the other hand, Chandil Dam authorities opened all gates completely. This measure prevents overflow and manages rising water levels effectively.

Besides, the dam’s water release hasn’t affected Ichagarh’s submersion areas. However, waterlogging problems persist in several low-lying regions.

The legislator has contacted relevant departments for immediate action. Officials received instructions to ensure proper drainage in waterlogged areas.
