JAMSHEDPUR – Police in the Sakchi area have arrested Dharmendra Yadav (35), a resident of Kashidih, for possessing a pistol and live ammunition. The arrest follows an incident where Yadav allegedly brandished a gun and threatened Samrat Singh during a scuffle between two groups in Kashidih.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal informed the media that officers recovered the firearm from the rooftop of Yadav’s house.
Another Arrest Linked to CCTV Footage
In a separate case, Bhola Yadav was also arrested for illegal firearm possession. Two days ago, after a brawl in Kashidih, a pistol was dropped at the scene. A child later found the weapon and handed it over to the police.
Upon reviewing CCTV footage, investigators confirmed that Bhola Yadav had dropped the pistol while fleeing, leading to his arrest.
Strict Action Under Arms Act
Both accused have been booked under the Arms Act and sent to judicial custody. The SSP assured that police are maintaining strict surveillance on illegal arms activities and will take stringent measures against offenders.
Crackdown on Illegal Arms in Jamshedpur
Recent crackdowns indicate the administration’s firm stance against illegal weapons. Earlier, Jamshedpur police seized a cache of firearms, preventing potential criminal activities.
Authorities had also busted an illegal gun racket in Jharkhand, underscoring the rise in illicit arms trade in the region.
