JAMSHEDPUR – Teachers of the B.Ed. department at Graduate College submitted a memorandum to Principal Dr. Veena Singh Priyadarshi on Monday. The memorandum highlighted grievances regarding a six-month delay in contract renewals and non-payment of salaries for the past three months.

The teachers, facing severe financial challenges, requested the principal to approach the university vice-chancellor for an immediate resolution. A teacher stated, “We are struggling to afford basic household essentials due to the prolonged salary delays.”

Protests Planned to Highlight Grievances

To draw attention to their plight, the teachers announced a symbolic protest starting Tuesday by wearing black badges during their duties. Despite raising the issue multiple times with Chaibasa authorities and higher officials, no action has been taken so far.

Teachers’ Delegation and Concerns

The delegation included Dr. Visheshwar Yadav, Dr. Aparajita, Dr. Poonam Thakur, Dr. Jaya Sharma, Dr. Meenu, Prof. Priyanka Kumari, Prof. Preeti Singh, and Deepika Kujur, among others. They emphasized the urgent need for administrative action to address their issues.

The teachers urged authorities to ensure timely contract renewals and salary payments, stressing the need for stable support to continue their educational responsibilities effectively.
