970 Schools in Jharkhand to Get Old Pension Scheme Benefits

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand government has extended Old Pension Scheme benefits to staff of 970 schools.

Education Secretary Umashankar Singh issued the notification. Meanwhile, the decision follows Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s directives.

The scheme replaces the Contributory Pension System. Moreover, employees can select their preferred pension plan.

Implementation Process

The government issued Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, beneficiaries must submit affidavits for scheme selection.

Teachers welcomed the landmark decision. Furthermore, non-teaching staff gains pension security.

Stakeholder Engagement

Father Arensius Minj led discussions with officials. Meanwhile, Niranjan Sandil supported teachers’ demands.

“This fulfills a crucial demand,” stated Prabhat Kumar Singh. Additionally, various committees expressed gratitude.

Community Response

District President Shashi Bhushan Dubey praised the initiative. Moreover, Secretary Nageshwar acknowledged government support.
