JAMSHEDPUR – The District Water and Sanitation Committee reviewed Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Phase-2 progress today.
DDC Aniket Sachan chaired the meeting at Collectorate. Officials discussed waste management strategies.
“All projects must meet 2024-25 targets,” a senior official stated. The focus remains on rural sanitation.
Project Components
The mission prioritizes ODF Plus model villages. This includes solid and liquid waste management.
Meanwhile, officials must verify construction works. The projects align with 15th Finance Commission guidelines.
Implementation Plan
Physical verification of projects is mandatory. MNREGA schemes will support the implementation.
Moreover, departments must coordinate effectively. Panchayati Raj Department plays a crucial role.
Rural Focus
The initiative covers cow dung and plastic management. Safe menstrual hygiene receives attention.
However, maintaining ODF status remains primary. Officials will monitor village-level progress regularly.
