JAMSHEDPUR – The Kudmi Student Organization today submitted a memorandum to Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, urging the declaration of Tusu as a state festival. On the occasion, the delegation also extended New Year and Tusu festival greetings to the Governor, presenting traditional gifts such as Tusu and a yellow scarf.

Rich Kudmali Heritage Discussed

During the meeting, the organization emphasized Jharkhand’s cultural richness and the significance of Kudmali traditions. Leaders expressed hope that Tusu would foster unity and harmony within the community. They also advocated for the inclusion of Tusu festival celebrations in all universities across the state.

Addressing Linguistic Concerns

The organization pointed out errors in the recent survey of the Kudmali language and urged immediate rectification. “Our language and traditions are integral to our identity, and we request action to preserve them,” said Chandan Mahato, the central president of the Kudmi Student Organization.

The meeting concluded with an appeal to support cultural and linguistic initiatives to strengthen the Kudmali community’s representation.
