Give 75 per cent reservation to local villagers in jobs: Dulal Bhuiyan

Jamshedpur, Aug 24: Hundreds of villagers accompanied by members of Jharkhand Mazdoor Union blocked the loco track of Nuvoco Vista Corporation Limited and Tata Power plant in support of their various demands.

The protestors, led by former minister Dulal Bhuiyan, mainly demanded 75 per cent reservation in jobs and basic amenities for local villagers. They also demanded construction of a Railway over-bridge over the main line and company line among other demands.

A seven-point petition was handed over to the company authorities by protestors today. Bhuiyan said this was just the tip of the iceberg and much more lay ahead. “This is just the beginning of agitation. If the companies do not fulfill our demands, we will wage a massive agitation to get it done,” he said.
