JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy, MLA from Jamshedpur West, has been honored with the National Ambedkar Award for 2024 at a ceremony held at his Bistupur office.
The award was presented by Anil Bansphor, the President and Chief Instructor of the Ambedkar School of Martial Arts. Highlighting Roy’s contribution, Bansphor stated that the MLA’s consistent efforts to uplift marginalized sections, including the poor and underprivileged, made him a deserving recipient of the prestigious honor.
The Award and Its Legacy
The National Ambedkar Award is an annual accolade presented by the Bahujan Sahitya Academy to recognize individuals for their impactful contributions. The academy’s 2024 national convention was held on December 15 at Andhra Bhawan in Delhi. However, since Roy could not attend the event, the award was delivered to his residence.
Roy’s Role in Supporting Excellence
According to Bansphor, his participation in international martial arts competitions, including one in Hong Kong, was made possible due to Roy’s encouragement and support. “His assistance has inspired countless individuals, including myself, to pursue excellence,” he added.
This recognition stands as a testament to Roy’s dedicated service to the welfare of Jharkhand’s underprivileged communities.
