Demand to Cancel Chowkidar Exam Sparks Jamshedpur Shutdown Call
Tribal Students Union Plans Shutdown Over Exam Irregularities
Key Points:
- Adhivasi Chhatra Ekta calls for Jamshedpur shutdown over exam issues.
- Alleges irregularities in Chowkidar recruitment process.
- Delegation to meet DC seeking clarity on exam discrepancies.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Adhivasi Chhatra Ekta, led by convener Indra Hembram, has announced a shutdown in Jamshedpur and East Singhbhum district, demanding the cancellation of the Chowkidar recruitment examination. The group alleges widespread irregularities at the departmental level.
Allegations of Irregularities in Exam Process
The students’ union questions why marks from the written examination have not been disclosed. They also pointed out that physical test scores from December 31 remain unpublished, violating established rules. “Why has transparency been sidelined?” Hembram asked, expressing frustration over the lack of accountability.
Reduction of Exam Marks Raises Concerns
Another major concern raised was the reduction of exam marks. Initially, the examination carried 100 marks, but it was later reduced to 50 without proper justification. The group cited advertisement number 01/2024 as the basis for their protest, urging authorities to address this discrepancy.
Delegation Plans to Meet DC
A 10-member delegation plans to meet the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to submit a memorandum. Hembram stated that they have also sent copies of their complaints to the Chief Minister, Joint Secretary, Kolhan Commissioner, and SSP, seeking swift action. Further protests, including rallies and demonstrations, are being planned if demands remain unmet.
