Circle Officer’s Demolition Notice Triggers Protests in Mango’s Laxman Nagar

Residents Promise Resistance, Vikas Singh Criticizes Administration

Key Points:

  • Demolition notices issued to Laxman Nagar residents in Mango.
  • Families claim 30 years of residence with regular tax payments.
  • Former BJP leader condemns action as unjust and selective.

JAMSHEDPUR – Fear and anger gripped residents of Mango’s Laxman Nagar after eviction notices were issued by the Circle Officer. The notice instructed residents to vacate their homes by January 28, warning of demolition if they failed to comply. Families, primarily daily wage earners, expressed despair over losing their long-established homes.

Locals revealed they had spent over three decades building their homes and lives in the area. One resident stated, “We are regular taxpayers and law-abiding citizens. This move is unfair and threatens our survival.”

Vikas Singh Speaks Out

Former BJP leader Vikas Singh visited Laxman Nagar to support the affected families. He criticized the administration’s actions, calling it an attack on the poor. “This is a test of strength against the vulnerable. While illegal structures like Congress’s roadside office near New Purulia Road remain untouched, hardworking families are being uprooted without cause,” he remarked.

Community’s Determined Resistance

Residents have vowed to resist the eviction, even at the cost of their lives. “We will not surrender our land. This is our home, and we will fight for it,” said a local. Singh also emphasized the absence of any public welfare plans for the land and called for fair treatment.

Selective Enforcement Questioned

Criticism of selective enforcement of rules has further fueled anger. Locals and leaders alike demand accountability from the authorities, insisting on equality and justice. Singh declared, “This oppressive governance will face resistance, no matter the cost.”
