JAMSHEDPUR – The Bagbera Metropolitan Development Committee has urged the state government to expedite the Bagbera Rural Water Supply Scheme. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, warning of intensified protests if the project remains stalled.
A Long-Delayed Initiative
The Bagbera Rural Water Supply Scheme, proposed during the tenure of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, is yet to be implemented, leaving millions of residents without access to basic water supply. Despite repeated protests and pleas, the project remains incomplete, causing frustration among the local population.
Committee’s Call for Action
The committee stated, “We have organized countless protests to bring attention to this issue, but the government has failed to act. If the project does not materialize soon, we will be forced to escalate our protests, including gheraoing the Assembly and Parliament.”
