Cyber Criminals Arrested in Jamtara, Seized Items Uncovered

JAMTARA – Jamtara Cyber Police apprehended three cyber criminals following a tip-off to the Superintendent of Police.
The operation was led by Cyber Police Station in-charge Abdul Rahman.
Raids were conducted in Pokharia and Satuatand villages, resulting in the arrests.
Moreover, the suspects were identified as Safakat Ansari, 31, Md. Muktada Ansari, 29, and Ibrahim Ansari, 23.

Police seized 10 fake mobile phones, 14 SIM cards, and various identification documents from the accused.
Additionally, Rs. 52,500 in cash and a motorcycle were recovered during the operation.
The suspects have been charged under the IT Act at Jamtara Cyber Crime Police Station.
Furthermore, authorities are preparing to transfer the accused to jail.
The criminals allegedly targeted victims by posing as HDFC Bank representatives.
They would trick people into downloading screen-sharing apps to steal credit/debit card information.
In addition, the group uploaded fake PhonePe customer care numbers on YouTube to scam unsuspecting callers.
Their operations primarily focused on West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.
On the other hand, this arrest highlights the ongoing battle against cyber fraud in the region.
