Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Lives of Two Youths in Dumka

Two young men, residents of Sriram Para, tragically lost their lives due to drowning in Baskichak under the Dumka/Mufassil police station area.

DUMKA – A tragic incident has struck the Sriram Para community in Dumka, as two youths drowned while bathing in Baskichak, within the jurisdiction of the Dumka/Mufassil police station.

The victims, identified as Afzal and Sonu, were part of a group of three friends who had decided to take a bath in Baskichak.

Tragically, both Afzal and Sonu succumbed to the depths of the water body while their third companion managed to escape unscathed.

Upon surviving the ordeal, the third individual quickly informed the victims’ relatives of the unfortunate occurrence.

Rushing to the site, relatives were able to retrieve Afzal and immediately transported him to Dumka’s Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital.

Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the doctors declared Afzal dead upon arrival.

Following several hours of grueling search and rescue, the body of the second victim, Sonu, was finally recovered.

Both bodies were taken into police custody, and after completing the necessary postmortem procedures, handed over to their grieving families.
