SERAIKELA – In a significant operation, the Seraikela district police destroyed illegal opium farming across 28.5 acres in various areas of the district. The coordinated campaign was led under the directives of the Superintendent of Police, involving multiple teams from local police stations, SSB units, and administrative officers.

Collaborative Operation Across Regions

The initiative saw multiple raids across different locations. In Chouka Police Station limits, a 12-acre illegal opium plantation in Turu village was eradicated with the assistance of SSB Matkamdih Company and local officers. Similarly, in Dhalbhumgarh OP’s Champad village, over 4.5 acres of illicit crops were uprooted. These efforts reflect a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics in the region.

Comprehensive Actions in Kharsawan and Ichagarh

In Kharsawan Police jurisdiction, the local police, along with administrative support, dismantled opium farms spread over 5 acres in Chaitanpur hamlet of Reading Panchayat. Likewise, in Ichagarh’s Matkamdih village, approximately 7 acres of illegal plantations were cleared under the supervision of police authorities.
