JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director, TV Narendran, has taken charge to address the pressing challenges posed by China’s aggressive steel dumping practices in India. A joint meeting was held on Thursday with representatives from Tata Workers’ Union and Mines Union to devise strategies for mitigating the impact.

In the meeting, Narendran outlined the global steel market scenario, highlighting the challenges leading to a reduced profit margin for the company. He emphasized the need for a collaborative approach, reminding attendees of the company’s resilience in overcoming past crises with strong union-management cooperation.

Key directives included raising awareness among employees, involving committee members through JDC, and focusing on cost control. Steps to reduce wastage, promote recycling, and strengthen both the company and environmental sustainability were also discussed.

They shared their efforts, including submitting a memorandum to the government for imposing anti-dumping duties during a recent INTUC meeting in Delhi.
