New Basketball Court Unveiled in Jamshedpur’s Sidhgora

Former Olympian Harbhajan Singh Inaugurates MLA-Funded Facility

Local initiative aims to boost sports accessibility for common players in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Krida Udyan in Sidhgora on Saturday had a special celebration for the opening of a brand new basketball court.

The court was inaugurated on Saturday by the esteemed former Olympian, Harbhajan Singh.

The court, which is funded by the allocated funds of Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, represents a noteworthy advancement in the development of local sports infrastructure.

Harbhajan Singh commended Roy for keeping his promise to build the court within a year.

"Sports instill discipline and a winning spirit, which are crucial for personal growth," Singh remarked during the inauguration.

Roy has allocated 76 lakh rupees from his MLA fund for the basketball court, which will help address the need for accessible sports facilities.

The MLA has just announced that they will be opening new facilities for archery, netball, and other sports later this month.

An exciting exhibition match took place, featuring teams from Ramakrishna Mission School and ISWP. It was a great opportunity to witness the incredible talent of the local players.

The girls team of ISWP emerged victorious against Ramakrishna Mission School, securing a remarkable score of 8-2.

In a thrilling boys’ match, Ramakrishna Mission, Sidgora, emerged victorious with a narrow 15-14 win over ISWP.

The event brought attention to the increasing emphasis on creating long-lasting sports facilities for the general public in Jamshedpur.

A number of national and international players, as well as former coaches, were present at the program, highlighting the importance of the event.
