Manmohan Singh’s Death Halts Maiyan Samman Fund Transfer in Jharkhand

CM’s Rs 2500 Enhanced Payment to 56 Lakh Women Delayed Due to National Mourning

RANCHI – The state government postponed the enhanced payment transfer under Mukhya Mantri Maiya Samman Yojana following former PM’s death.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s scheduled program stands cancelled. The event was planned at Khoja Toli, Namkum.

Moreover, the state declared seven days of mourning. All government buildings will fly flags at half-mast until January 1.

Meanwhile, some beneficiaries have already received increased payments. The scheme targets 55.60 lakh women across Jharkhand.

Financial Allocations

The Social Welfare Department manages fund distribution. Furthermore, the supplementary budget allocated Rs 6,390.55 crore for 2024-25.

Additionally, district administrations received Rs 5,225 crore. The original deadline for transfers was December 28.

State Mourning Implementation

The Cabinet Secretariat issued detailed guidelines. However, all official state events remain suspended during mourning.

In addition, divisional commissioners received mourning protocols. The restrictions apply across all government offices.

CM’s Tribute

Soren expressed deep sorrow over Singh’s demise. “The country lost one of its great sons,” he posted on X.

Moreover, he praised Singh’s developmental politics. The CM sought divine blessings for the bereaved family.
