JAMSHEDPUR – A surprise inspection by SDO Dhalbhum uncovered prohibited items at the juvenile remand home, while the Child Reform Home showed better management practices.

The inspection revealed serious security breaches at the remand home premises. The authorities discovered bidis, ganja, and mobile phones inside.

“These lapses in security protocols are unacceptable and demand immediate corrective measures,” a senior official stated.

Security Measures

SDO Shatabdi Majumdar issued strict directives to the management. The facility has faced similar issues in the past year.

Moreover, staff shortages have impacted monitoring capabilities significantly. The administration plans to recruit additional security personnel soon.

Reform Home Performance

In contrast, the Child Reform Home demonstrated better standards. The facility houses 19 children currently.

Furthermore, recent government data shows a 40% improvement in rehabilitation rates at reform homes statewide.

Future Plans

The administration aims to implement biometric entry systems at all juvenile facilities. Officials expect completion by next quarter.

Meanwhile, regular surprise inspections will continue across all juvenile homes. The government has allocated additional funds for infrastructure upgrades.
