JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has appointed Rajesh Rajan, currently serving as Head of Communication for Raw Materials, as the new Head of Communication for Jharkhand. The decision follows the resignation of Runa Rajeev Kumar, leaving the position vacant.
Effective Role Transition
A circular announcing Rajan’s additional responsibility was issued on Friday. He will continue to report to the Chief of Corporate Communication and will perform his duties from Jamshedpur. The new role is effective immediately and will remain so until further notice.
Extensive Career in Tata Steel
Rajesh Rajan began his journey with Tata Steel in 1999 and has gained diverse experience through multiple roles. Over the years, he has worked in areas such as administration, stores, and hospital management. He was later transferred to JUSCO, a Tata Steel subsidiary, where he looked after corporate communication.
A couple of years ago, Rajan was deputed to Tata Sponge as Chief of Corporate Services, managing key functions such as administration, corporate communication, liaison, land matters, statutory compliance, and CSR.

With his proven expertise and long association with Tata Steel, Rajan’s appointment reflects the company’s trust in his leadership to oversee communication strategies for Jharkhand alongside his existing responsibilities for Raw Materials.
