JAMSHEDPUR – A speeding passenger tempo overturned near Howrah Bridge in Sakchi on Tuesday evening, injuring three family members. The victims, identified as Azam Ansari, his sister, and their mother Tamanna Khatoon, hail from Makdampur in the Parsudih area. The tempo driver also sustained minor injuries.
Tamanna Khatoon explained that they had gone to Sakchi market for shopping with six family members. While returning home, the tempo lost control near Howrah Bridge and overturned. The sudden incident caused panic among the passengers.
Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the injured occupants. They also informed the police, who arrived promptly and arranged for medical aid. All injured persons were taken to MGM Hospital for treatment and were later discharged after primary care.
The accident highlights the growing concerns over road safety and overspeeding in Jamshedpur. Road mishaps involving passenger tempos have been increasingly reported in the Sakchi area, prompting calls for stricter traffic monitoring.
