New Culture Society Hosts Event on Gender-Based Violence

MEDININAGAR – The New Culture Society organized an inter-school painting competition focusing on pressing issues such as violence against women, gender-based violence, child marriage, female foeticide, and safe versus unsafe touch. The event took place at the scenic Koel Riverfront.

Event Highlights

District Social Welfare Officer Neeta Chauhan, the chief guest, highlighted nationwide efforts to curb gender-based violence. She expressed hope that such programs would inspire children to lead their lives in the right direction and develop resilience against social evils.

Renowned woodwork artist and IPTA President Prem Bhasin, a special guest, was impressed by the students’ artwork and announced a special award from his side. He remarked that children possess innate artistic talents that need proper guidance.

UNICEF District Coordinator Dr. Khwaja Tabrez praised the collaborative efforts of the district administration and the New Culture Society. He noted that gender-based violence is a pervasive issue and emphasized the need for its eradication.

Participating Schools and Winners

Students from various schools, including Gurukulam International School, GGPS, Green Valley School, Cambridge Public School, Orient Public School, Lotus Academy, R.N. Tagore, Vimla Pandey Gyan Niketan, and Ithe High School, participated in the competition.

The winners were:

  • First Prize: Ayush Kumar (Green Valley School)
  • Second Prize: Sweety Rani (Vimla Pandey Gyan Niketan)
  • Third Prize: Srishti Singh (Gurukulam International School)

All participants received certificates and medals in recognition of their efforts.

Acknowledgments

The event was graced by Suman Kumari from PCI India and Mohammad Hamid from Rising Tree. Renowned painter and cartoonist Aman Chakr served as the judge.

The New Culture Society’s leadership, including President Vishal Kumar, Secretary Ajit Kumar Pathak, Treasurer Rahul Ranjan, Deputy Secretary Manish Kumar, Admin Chanda Jha, Himanshu Trivedi, Ashok Kumar Pandey, Dr. Dev Prakash Giri, Uday Kumar Jha, Sangeeta Singh, Pankaj Nirala, and Avinash Kumar Raja, played commendable roles in organizing the event.
