RANCHI – Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with his cabinet ministers, took the oath as a member of the state assembly on Monday, marking the beginning of a four-day session.

The session commenced at 11 a.m., with Pro-tem Speaker Stephen Marandi administering the oath to CM Soren, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Deepak Birua, and Labor Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav.

Swearing-in of Assembly Members

All 81 elected members of the Jharkhand Assembly are scheduled to take their oaths during this session. The Assembly is also set to witness significant proceedings, including the election of the Speaker, the Governor’s address, and discussions on the second supplementary budget.

JMM-Led Alliance Retains Power

Hemant Soren was sworn in as Jharkhand’s 14th Chief Minister in a grand ceremony on November 28, with 11 ministers taking their oaths on December 5. The JMM-led coalition, which includes the Congress and the RJD, won a decisive victory in the November 23 elections, securing 56 of the 81 seats. The BJP-led NDA was reduced to 24 seats.
