JAMSHEDPUR – A man was shot in the back by two assailants on a motorcycle while returning from the market.
On Friday evening, Ashutosh Ojha, a resident of Mango Teachers’ Colony, was returning from Mirzadiha market with his friend Mangal Kumar when two individuals on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle shot him from behind. The attackers, described as wearing white shirts, fled towards Dimna Chowk.
Mangal Kumar rushed the injured Ojha to MGM Hospital. Upon receiving information, Ojha’s family arrived at the hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, Ojha was referred to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for further treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal was quoted by a local newspaper as saying, “Three youths are being questioned in connection with the firing on Ashutosh. The matter is under investigation.”
In recent months, Jamshedpur has experienced a series of shootings. In December 2023, a land trader was killed in a shooting incident in the Mango area, and in October 2024, a 25-year-old man was shot dead by unknown assailants in Kitadih Colony.
