JAMSHEDPUR – The 62nd Mines Safety Week was inaugurated at Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) by Deputy Directors of Mines Safety, R.R. Mishra and Sudhir Aplav, on Saturday. The event will run from December 2 to December 7.
During the inauguration, the deputy directors flagged off the safety week and urged company officials to prioritize safety awareness among workers during production activities. They stressed that achieving zero accidents should be a key organizational goal.
Earlier, the officials honored the winners of safety-related trade tests conducted across UCIL’s seven mines. This recognition was aimed at boosting the morale of employees and encouraging a strong culture of safety.
The event also included a safety inspection of the Narwapahar Uranium Mines, where the officials provided several recommendations to improve safety standards.
The inauguration was attended by UCIL’s ISO Head K.K. Rao, Jaduguda Group of Mines Agent Manoranjan Mahali, Narwapahar Uranium Project Manager Shiv Kumar Timbard, and representatives and managers from 40 mines across Jharkhand.
