Jamshedpur DC Sets 6 Lakh Quintal Paddy Procurement Target for 2024-25

District administration finalizes 42 LAMPS centers and 20 rice mills for procurement

Key Points:

Farmers to receive enhanced MSP of Rs 2,400 per quintal

• Maximum limit of 200 quintals set per farmer for procurement

• District committee plans streamlined operations through designated centers

JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal leads district’s strategic planning for paddy procurement season.

The monitoring committee met at the Collectorate Auditorium.

Meanwhile, key officials participated in the strategic session.

Among them were ADC Bhagirath Prasad and DSO Salman Zafar Khijri.

Moreover, farmers will get Rs 2,300 as minimum support price.

An additional bonus of Rs 100 supplements the MSP.

"Fair pricing protects our farmers’ interests," stated a senior agriculture official.

Furthermore, 42 LAMPS centers will handle procurement operations.

Twenty rice mills have joined the procurement network.

In addition, magistrates will monitor affiliated rice mills.

The administration aims to prevent exploitation by middlemen.

Besides, cooperative extension officers will work at block levels.

Farmers can seek approval for selling beyond 200 quintals.

However, this requires investigation by local authorities.

The process emphasizes timely payments to farmers.

Additionally, procurement centers will link with nearby mills.

On the other hand, special focus remains on farmer awareness.
