SERAIKELA – Two men were injured in a bike accident near Gaurangdih under Seraikela Police Station on Thursday evening. The accident happened around 7:30 PM when their bike skidded on the road.
The injured were identified as Shankar Mukhi, 36, a resident of Manikbazar, and his nephew Shyam Karuwa, 30, the panchayat secretary of Mohitpur. While Shyam narrowly escaped severe injuries, Shankar suffered a fractured leg despite wearing a helmet, which prevented more serious harm.
Local residents quickly assisted and transported the injured to Seraikela Sadar Hospital via a road ambulance. Shankar was later referred to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur after initial treatment.
Shankar Mukhi, who works in Lohardaga, had come to Jamshedpur for a wedding. He was returning to Manikbazar after attending the event with Shyam. The mishap occurred while they were en route to drop Shyam at his village, Khatuakudar, in Sini.
The accident highlights the importance of wearing helmets and adhering to road safety guidelines to prevent severe injuries.
