SERAIKELA – Two young men from Seraikela and Jamshedpur demonstrated exceptional honesty by handing over ₹3.5 lakh they found on the road to the police.
The incident occurred near S-Type Chowk in Adityapur on Monday evening.
RJ Abhay, a resident of Shrinath Global, and Ananga Karmakar, a Tata Power employee from Kadma, came across bundles of cash separately while passing through the area.
After counting the money, which totaled ₹3.5 lakh, they contacted former councilor Sudhir Kumar Singh for assistance.
Sudhir Kumar Singh promptly notified Adityapur police, who dispatched a PCR team to the scene.
The team secured the cash and initiated an investigation to determine its owner.
RJ Abhay explained that he was passing through the area when he discovered the cash.
At the same time, Ananga Karmakar noticed more bundles of notes and decided to investigate further.
Together, they ensured the safe handover of the money to authorities.
Local residents praised their honesty and commended their actions as a model of integrity.
Adityapur police officials confirmed that they will recommend the duo for recognition by the Superintendent of Police.
