Central Team to Review Leprosy Care in East Singhbhum

147 new cases detected out of 1,147 suspects with highest count in Jamshedpur urban area

JAMSHEDPUR – The Central Review Mission team will evaluate leprosy patient care and welfare schemes in East Singhbhum district during their November 26 visit.

Dr. Mrityunjay Dhavadia will guide the inspection team through various district blocks.

Meanwhile, a recent investigation revealed 147 new leprosy cases across the region.

Moreover, the Jamshedpur urban area reported the highest concentration with 34 cases.

Furthermore, Potka emerged as the second most affected area with 23 cases.

In addition, other blocks like Baharagora and Dhalbhumgarh reported 12 and 15 cases respectively.

However, medical officers have received instructions to accelerate the investigation process.

The department provides financial support directly to patient accounts.

On the other hand, family members receive compensation for undergoing testing.

Besides, the findings will help shape future interventions and support measures.
